Your system will do better than his, much better. Regarding price, performance, heat, power consumption, overclockability, everything. This is nearly common knowledge around here, I just got here first. Congrats friend, you have a vastly superior processor.

Hurah for spellcheck!

The MSI 975x platinum, I've heard, isn't a good overclocking board. Get the Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 or the Asus P5N-E SLI or the Asus P5B-E for an affordible board with huge overclocking potential.

I agree with the P5B-E and DS3, both are great boards, but i would get the P5B Deluxe if you have the budget for it, awesome oc'ing board.

Your system is faster. Your borther's system might be faster in several synthetic benchmarks, but in every real world application your system is faster. We've allready benchmarked 965EE and C2D E6600 for math, physics, graphics rendering, video/audio encoding, gaming, office-like apps and concluded that the clear winer is C2D E6600.

old bios???

you can upgrade the bios from its website to get the latest one. Normally when you buy the board it comes with a relatively new bios if not the latest one.
