I have DirecTV and OTA rooftop antenna through one line with a
diplexer
And I have a little trouble getting some of the localHDTV OTA. Would
running a separate
Rg6 from the antenna help pick up some of the locals hdtv channels

Should be easy enough to test with the current setup. Disconnect the
diplexers at each end and run the OTA straight through to the TV.

A dedicated cable all the way from the antenna to the receiver is always
best, but ordinarily the amount of insertion loss incurred through a
diplexer will not make the difference between receiving a good signal and
receiving a poor one. More likely you're in a fringe area or need a better
(or higher) antenna. Bear in mind many of the HD stations run only low
power transmitters. Regular broadcast channels may come boiling in while
HD signals are down in the soup.

I had a Trek Rooftop and bought an Indoor Zenith Silver Sensor - Get the
Zenith I live 20+ miles from the towers and the Zenith gets them all in
wonderfully while the rooftop Trek stinks
