I'm in NY and have time warner cable--I would like to see a show/movie
in 1080i. I know that showtime used to have odyssey which was in that
format but I didn't have my hdtv then. If anyone knows of any current
shows in that format that are in my area please let me know.

Check out HDNet or HDNet Movies (http://www.hd.net) -- both broadcast in
1080i.

check with the cable guys to see which channels THEY carry in HD
NBC-HD, CBS-HD, HDNET, INHD, SHOWTIME HD, and HBOHD are all 1080i

All local channels (local network affiliates) offered by Time Warner
will be in 1080i with the exception of ABC (720p). HDNet, HDMovies,
DiscoveryHD, INHD, INHD2, HBO HD, and Showtime HD are all broadcast in
1080i. Although some of their porgramming are upconverted from non-HD
formats (I'm convinced HBO is upconverting 480p movies, but everyone
disagrees with me).
