DVI Alert - Your HDTV does not support HDCP, Please use YPbPr component
connection to watch TV!

I get this Message When connecting my:

Scientific Atlanta EXPLORER 3250HD

to my:

RCA D52W20 HDTV monitor

Via DVI.

Is this because My TV does not have an HD tuner or is this caused by
some other compatibility issue?

Am I missing a vital piece of HDTV hardware and is my HDTV picture I'm
seeing now with Component video not of true HDTV quality?

My Cable provider is COX Comunications and they have told me that I need
to connect my TV's DVI input to an HDTV tuner, then connect my cable
reciever to a DVI input on the HDTV tuner. Would this be correct?

Okay this is what I have learned from SA. Cox comunications has likly
not opted to load the software for the DVI output into the HD reciever.
Does anyone know of a way, (if I had the software) that I could load it
into the reciever myself?

The SA3250 does not yet meet the proper specs for HDCP. They've been
regularly introducing new firmware versions (which may or may not be
rolled out by your cable provider), but to date the problem remains
unsolved. For more information, see:

Okay, I was able to get a tech at Cox Comm. to up load a beta vertion of
a new Firmware release that does support HDCP. it works but there are
some annoying bugs. I think I'l sick with Component for now and maybe
when they iron out some bugs I'l go back.
