Hi,
I currently have an AOpen MB with a Pentium Mobile chip. I built this based on a Tom's article a while back ("The Next Generation of Cool" ). I'm using integrated graphics with a DVI output. I haven't been wild about the setup but I'm happy that it's been quiet and easy on power.

Now I'm looking to upgrade, most likely to a Core 2 Duo. Since I'm not doing any gaming I was planning to rely on another integrated DVI out option but I'm not seeing anything. Based on this I'm not sure which chipset to choose. I was leaning toward the G965 but I understand I'll have to lose my IDE devices. I'm not sure what I'd be losing with other chipsets.

In short, I'm wondering what chipset I should go with and if there are any highly recommended MBs. Based on what I've seen it seems like I will probably have to buy a DVI ready card.

In the end I'm trying to build a system that will allow me to run OS X in all it's glory (?). Hope that doesn't turn anyone off from recommendations ;)

Thanks in advance.

PS I'm driving an Apple 20" Cinema Display.

And another question is, if it makes sense to buy a DVI compatible video card for the motherboard of choice, what's decent choice for a not-so gamer? I'm surprised to see so many motherboards still coming with a VGA output for the integrated video. It's 2007 for chrissake!
