I just finished building my first computer (it works great, thanks for the help), but I have a problem (I'm new to this stuff). Right now I have my two old computers connected to the internet through a Linksys BEFSR41 router, they were easy to connect, just plug in, put in the CD, click install and you're on the internet. But my new computer, when connected to the router, does not recognize the router connection and will not let me continue installing from the router CD. When I check the network connections, there is only one 1394 connection shown. I cannot use the internet or connect to anything. Any help you can give me getting this computer on the internet is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance :)

It sounds like your network card has not been installed.

Right click on My Computer and select Properties
Click on the Hardware tab and then Device Manager

See if there's a Ethernet Controller listed under Other Devices with a yellow questionmark.

If there is you will need to install the driver from the driver disk by right clicking on Ethernet Controller then update driver.

This should then list your network card within the Netowork Connections screen.

Sounds like you're right :)

I'm getting home from vacation on Wed. and I'll try it then. Thanks for the help and I'll let you know if it worked.

Yep it worked. I thought I had installed everything off the CD but I guess I forgot these drivers.
