Windows 2000 Ad network with Win2k and Winxp workstations. Looking to get the functionality of Roaming profiles with using Roaming Profiles. I would like to have a generic user login and get its desktop from a network folder. This network folder would be shared by other workstations as well. Essentially, all users logging in as that user would get the same desktop and any changes made to the desktop will be on the network location and be available for all.

Hi,

I m providing you with a KB article that talks about how to create a Test
user profile on a Windows 2000 machine and then copy it to a Network Share.

You can follow the following steps :

1. Just create one such user of your choice . Log in with that user name
and adjust the Desktop Settings to ur req. Log out.
2. Create a network share on any server of your choice.
3. Copy the profile info to the network share .
4. In the User manger tool reflect the Profile path the Network you have
created in STEP 2.
