SpyGuard 2009 - and any other crap....

Quick question. My server recently got the Malware SpyGuard 2009 on it. I went though, did a Spybot S+D on it and hopefully when I get home I will not have to do any more...

Question is, where the hell are these things coming from? I have AntirVir, SD, and Spybot S+D on there, as well as the typical Windows useless firewall. How is this getting installed?

The only questionable site I visit is Mininova for all my....Documentaries. Is this an invasive Javascript imbedded in an advertisement? How can it install itself w/o being clicked on? How do I stop it? How do I keep the cat from licking my stereo speekers?

Try using an account with limited permissions when you browse for your documentaries

I tried. Problem is, it makes DLing the link a PITA.....

AdAware seemed to help, but that made the page take forever to load as it waited and timed out on a lot of the ads.....

I am going to have to block flash and ads with the server. I really do not need much on there anyway.

Full immunize? Maybe, when I first got it, but I have not looked much since. I will have to go home and see what popped up. If it still gives me problems, I might post the HJT log on here, or try my luck up in the "legit" forums up top.

But so far, Malware and S+D seem to be the prescription. Maybe ComboFix. (My scanner does not like some components of that though...).

Irritating when the main thing you use it for are the TV shows you missed.....
