hard drive not visible in BIOS

so heres a question: windows xp sees that i have 2 hard drives in the system, but the bios only sees 1. i tried to do the auto detect, but no dice. both drives appear to be working fine in windows, but the bios issue makes me think its a little sketchy. any idea what might be happening?

Have you recently added/changed drives?

Is your configuration different?

i installed windows, and then i think it got corrupted cause it stopped working. so i reinstalled it and the drive was no longer visible in the bios.

Have you considered clearing the CMOS and starting again?
