I hooking my computer up to my 51" Mitsubishi Diamond series DLP television. Of these two cards will one give me the best picture quality. Or would I be able to notice a difference.

You should be considering ATI cards as well for this setup.

I was talking about the merits of video playback quality in direct response to the original poster's question.

My bad :(

Thats what I got for NOT READING the first post.

In terms of picture quality, I'd say go with the 7600gt since it's a newer gpu (7800 came out first, then the 7900, 7600, 7300 series a few months later). Although I doubt image quality will make a huge difference.

Thanks for the feedback. I decided to buy the 7800 GS. Newegg had a real good deal on them. After the rebate the cost was around $159.00
that was about $30.00 cheaper than the 7600GT. thanks again for your help. I will also be using the card for playing Americas Army as well as other online games that was on of the reasons for choosing these two. THe radeon x1950 is just too expensive.
