I just installed a new BFG OC 7800GS which I replaced my X800XT and I'm using a Koolance waterblock and some ramsinks. The Nvidia temp monitor is diplaying my temp on idle at 70c. Is that too high? Should I use the stock heatsink and fan or am I ok?

That's too high. My 7800GS on high load sometimes hit 70°C but usually lower than that (55°C - 65°C), when idle is around 38-40°C.

Try to reseat the waterblock.

Well, I didn't have the proper adapter for the waterblock so I tried using arctic thermal adhesive and I also tried using 1411 thermal tape. The thermal taper held better but still high temps. I didn't test with adhesive because I was just getting annoyed. I put stock heatsink and fan back on and now 42c. I will just leave it as my cpu temp on the water line is at a very nice 23c idle. Thanks for the help anyways guys as I'm glad you advised me the temp was too high and might of blown the card.
