How do I install Windows 7 and Windows XP PRO on the same computer?

I have Windows XP PRO SP3 installed on my computer currently. I have partitioned my RAID 0 hard drives to create a Volume called Windows 7 and I would like to install the 32 bit version of Windows 7 to that partition. However, When I tried to do so the Windows 7 setup disk said it could not install to that partition. I attempted to run the driver diskette to install the RAID 0 driver on the partition, but it would not do so.

What am I doing wrong? Do I have to install Windows 7 first (or something)?

  1. The partition has to be a Fat32 or NTFS for windows to see it. Did you format it to one of these? If win7 is the upgrade oem version you will have to have XP installed first and do a clean install.
