Forgive my newness, but I have an SA8000HD and a Sony 57WS510. I want to
connect them via DVI for best picture quality. Instead of spending 100
bucks on a Monster cable, I purchased a standard LCD monitor DVI cable.
Pins look exactly the same on both cables, and the connection to both units
physically works, but I cannot get a signal on Video7(DVI) when it is
connected.

Is the problem:

-The cable?
-DVR Firmware?
-TV setting?
-DVR setting?
-other?

TIA!

Check with your cableTV company to see if your DVI output is active. Most
are not.
