Event logs corrupted

The Application and the System log on all my domain
controllers are corrupted. When I tried to open them it
says "Unable to complete the operation on "System".
Access denied". I was able to copy the file and try to
open it in another computer and it says that the file is
corrupted. Recently I applied some security policies,
including one for the event log, but the settings are
straight forward which shouldn't cause this. I don't
know what is causing this problem. Any ideas?

Thanks,

No, but boot the reovery console and delete the
appevent.evt and Sysevent.evt files from
%Systemroot%\System32\config

They will be recreated when you restart.
Make sure that the System account and Administrators have full control
on the config folder.
