Two wireless access points

Hi there,

I am building a new wired/wireless LAN in my house and am sticking with 802.11g for the wireless part for now.

If I use the wireless router AND a 1port access point to get better coverage, will those 2 signals give me a better signal by combining or will they fight each other?

Just make sure to use different channels for each access point (channel 1,6 or 11)
