I'm building a computer and wanted to get an opinion. With PCIe 2.0 coming out, would I be better off waiting until then or just do the build now? Also, does anyone know when PCIe 2.0 boards are coming out? Thanks

This fall I think, but who can tell with delays. Anyway, it's double the bandwidth. I'm not convinced that the current standard is being saturated yet. If you don't mind waiting, then it's worth having for next gen video cards.

Do the build now, by the time cards are out that use PCI-E2.0, there will be something better coming out. Look at is this way...how many cards out there actually USE AGP 8x? (Answer: 0)

Technology will always change. Some changes are worth waiting for. This one isn't. We're not close to surpassing the bandwidth of the current PCIe. Penryn and DDR3 are both much more likely to have an impact by year end, but I wouldn't wait for those either.

First wait until the new conroes come out, if anything, those will at least bring the pexpected price cut on the 6600 to only $214 and that will ive you a nice deal right there, pci_e 2.o? Bah, that's as much hype as 4x4 was, you won't need that for a while, and the way intel is, you need a new northbridge with every new cpu anyway, so if you want to get a nice quad core in 2008 or later, then you can get pci_e 2.0, but right now, I don't see any reason to wait on that
