Hello:
I am in the process of deciding what setup to get for HDTV. There are
several choices each with their plusses and minuses. Below are some choices
I have come up with and I would appreciate advice.
- get a Directv HDTV HD receiver with OTA HD receiver built in. Currently I
have an old Directv receiver that works fine.
- Can the above Directv receiver be purchased without paying the additional
HD monthly price and just use it to tune in local channels OTA?
-
- get a HDTV OTA receiver separate from Directv
- recently purchased a HDTV ready 15" TV for the kitchen and would like to
get HD on it somehow.
- Does anyone know the maximum distance for component signals or of a way
to transmit them wirelessly?
- Currently the main viewing area has an analog TV with Directv and use the
SVideo output to the TV. A Leapfrog system is used to send the signal to
the kitchen and basement TV. The composite output from the Leapfrog is used
for the kitchen TV. The plan is to replace the analog TV in the main
viewing area with HDTV.

How about 1 leapfrog for each component output...3 out and 3 in.
