is my cpu slowing me down?

I have a brand new comp with 1 gig of ram an amd x2 4200+ and an 8800gts.
I average about 40fps in call of duty 2 on full settings 16x12 res
Is my cpu slowing me down and by overclocking could i improve this?

Over clocking Both GPU and CPU may bring you up a few frames, but I would say 40 FPS at maximum settings on a Single GTS is pretty respectable. The AMD X2 and Core 2 Duo should never bring "bottlenecks" to the games. The Pentium is another story.
