Hello,
See if someone can help me out in here:
I'm trying to connect my Pocket PC with an Exchange Server 2003. I have ( I
think) all the settings correct:
SSL certificate up and running in the IIS
certicaficate installed in the pocket PC
the pocket PC is connecting to the IIS server
I get all the time "Error code: HTTP_400" "Your account does have permission
to sync with your current settings. Contact your Microsoft Exchange
administrator."
I've done some searching about the error code and it seems to be a wrong
request. Does anyone knows what am I missing in here?

Have you checked the boxes in the Exchange Server 2003 giving the user
ActiveSync rights, and OMA access?
Archived from groups: microsoft.public.pocketpc (More info?)
Hello Mauricio,
Yes I've checked that as well. I had this article printed and I've gone
through all the possible options. Obviously I am missing something, but
don't know what it is.
This sync thing is driving me mad.
Thanks a lot for your response,
Fernando.

Remove SSL fra Exchange (default, exchange) på IIS
Run certchk off (search for certchk with MS)
Open/forward for port 401?-403 in your firewall/router
If you have another domain than the default in Exchange, then you has to set
the following in registry.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MasSync\Parameters]
"smtpproxy"="domain.local"

Dear Per,
Thanks a lot!
> Remove SSL fra Exchange (default, exchange) på IIS
I'm not sure what do you mean in here. Where can I remove this?
> Run certchk off (search for certchk with MS)
I have done this already, but still no success.
> Open/forward for port 401?-403 in your firewall/router
I'm trying to sync within my Lan so I am not going via the firewall. The
Pocket PC is connected to my computer with a serial cable (I don't find the
drivers for the USB) and my computer connects to the Exchange via Ethernet
LAN.

I'm so confused with domains. There was nothing in the register so I've
added the value typing down the to possible domains it could be with no
success.
I'm not sure whether is related or not, but I can't browse the OMA pages.
For instance, webemail.mydomain.com/exchange works after loging and
password, but webemail.mydomain.com/oma comes with this error after login
and password:
"A System error has occurred while processing your request. Please try
again. If the problem persists, contact your administrator."
I am the "administrator" and I don't know why is happening.... . Is
driving me mad!!!!!
Now I have a new error when I try to sync with the pocket PC: "Error code:
HTTP_500" so i guess I've done something in the server...

Mauricio,
thank you for your help!
Folder rights are fine. I'm trying to sync with my username and password and
I have admin rights and the folder is fully available for administrators.
How can I check the certificate installed in my browser? I'm actually no
using the browser but using MS ActiveSync and the Pocket PC has the server
certificate installed, although it should not make any diference because I
used the MS command to disable the certicate checking, certchk.exe.
All the services I believe should be working are working, unless I've missed
one. How many should be running for this specific task?
Thank you, again. Please, have a look at my answer to Pet, I add some more
information about my exchange.
Regards,
Fernando.

Is your Pocket connected via ActiveSync? If yes then it will look for DNS
based on your computer - and if the Exchange is in the same LAN that can be
a problem. Create a new entry on your HOSTS file on your computer running
ActiveSync, pointing to the Exchange Server.
Also, on Internet Explorer (on your desktop, not Pocket PC) try browsing to
[server]/oma. See if it works.

Mauricio, Pet:
IT WORKS!!!! Thanks a lot to you both
At the end was the register. I double check the domain and it worked.
I'm a happy bunny
