how to setup this server

allright,
i've got myself a server i want to use as a backup & fileserver machine for my music.

it has 6 x 9GB Scsi drives
i still got an promise IDE controller somewhere at home

so, my idea: get myself a small ide HD (something like 4,3 GB), you get these for free now ;-)
put the OS on the IDE HD, and use all the scsi drives (raid5) for my music?

how about changing the disks to a bigger volume (like 6 x 20 GB)

damn't those scsi drives are expensive :-(

so many choices, so many possibility's! ideas please
