Hey all,

I recently got a nice set of Logitech 5.1 speakers (the X-530s). I've been using the onboard sound of my mobo but need to upgrade because my front audio jack doesn't work so I'm only getting sound of my rear speakers.

What I need is a sound card that can handle/make use of my speakers and that will be good for music/movies and games. I'm not really concerned about the lack of EAX support on Vista because I don't plan on upgrading anytime soon from XP. I'm trying to keep the cost under $100 bucks.

As always, thanks in advance for the tips.

I'll give a low-end solution.

Chaintech AV-710.

Good stereo DACs.
Decent surround output (with EAX2)
Digital optical output (if you ever need it).
Bitperfect playback, no audio resampling (unlike Creative cards).
Uses well known chipset that is also sported by the M-Audio Revolution line.

About $20.

SUP, i personally like the XFI from sound blaster, and the cheapest XFI is 65 bucks. i have an Xtereme Music and its insane, only diff between mine and the one I'm recommending is that there isn't a joystick input, but most today are all USB. heres the link, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16829102007.

P.P. this card is EX audio so it will be great for gaming.

L8er :)
