Archived from groups: microsoft.public.win2000.group_policy (More info?)
Hello, no workstations a applying the domain group policy and after
modifying the debug mode for userenv, the folowing appears in the userenv.log
file:
USERENV(b8.334) 14:09:18:426 ParseRegistryFile: CreateFile failed with 5
USERENV(b8.334) 14:09:18:447 ParseRegistryFile: Leaving.
USERENV(b8.334) 14:09:18:447 ProcessGPORegistryPolicy: ParseRegistryFile
failed.
USERENV(b8.334) 14:09:18:447 ProcessGPOList: ProcessGPORegistryPolicy failed.
USERENV(b8.334) 14:09:18:447 ProcessGPOs: Extension Registro
ProcessGroupPolicy failed, status 0x80004005.
If anyone has any ideas or sugestions on how to create a new policy ore fix
the existing one it would be a big help.

status 5 is access denied.
Make sure authenticated users has read/execute on that file in sysvol.

Thanks, that is correct, followed the steps in article 290647 and that
corrected the problem.
