GPO and domain logon time

I have a fresh build of Server 2003 Ent. I put in place a GPO on domain users
using filtering. After I added several workstations, I tried to logon using
several user accounts. The logons are successful but it takes about 4 to 5
minutes to log on. I thought maybe it was a group policy problem, so I
disabled my GPO. Doesn't help, any ideas?

note: I did mess with the default domain policy, and them made a new one.
This DC is also a DHCP server. I can't remember if I used my isp DNS servers
instead of my DC. Thanks for any help!

Make sure on your domain controller it is only pointing to itself for DNS.
Also, make sure your clients are only pointing to the domain controller for
DNS.
