Yes, interestingly enough those child abuse ones don't affect me in the least, the same as other domestic violence ones due to the way they imply but never go as far as show what happens.
Another one that gets me is the dog being tied to a bin and the driver driving off, makes my blood boil.

You're right about the argument on women vs children situations.
In some way a woman should just leave a bloke/woman/other if they even hit them once. You could argue that women stay for love, but it doesn't take a crap load of common sense to realise that someone beating you is doing it out of love...
For kids it becomes a little more difficult. A parent can easily say that they ran away from home and the abuse starts all over again.
Though what do I know. I don't have a wife that I have beaten, neither a kid...
