I recently purchased an ATI Radeon X1900 PRO (PCI-express). It needs to be connected to the computer's power box, which is recommended to have 450 watts. When I opened the system and read the side of the box, it said it had 375 watts. I live in America where the outlets give 125 watts. I would like to know if my video card can run under these conditions.

Thank You 8)

The outlets don't give out watts.. they give out volts. I would suggest you upgrade your psu but check on a psu calculator to make sure. If it's a generic psu I'd suggest an upgrade regardless.

chances are that if your case came with a generic power supply that upgrading the video card just wouldn't be an option without upgrading the PSU.

Read PSU101 at the top of this section to educate yourself.

BTW outlets are rated in VAC with the U.S using 115VAC

The typical residential outlet provides 120VAC at 15A (amps). Simply, watts (W) = volts (V) x amps (A). This means that the typical outlet is capable of providing up to 1800W. This value may be reduced by other items (lamps, small appliances, etc.) connected to the circuit.
