I just want to make sure the PSU is fine for what ive chosen, I more then likly would not use sli. so i figured i wouldnt need a big nasty. I will prob water cool this after i make sure it runs solid for a month or two. Also is the ram fine? I know its not the best out there but im trying to get a happy medium.

Any help would be awesome.

Looks good to me.

If you don't sli, why not pick a non-sli mobo? i.e. ASUS P5B-DELUXE, GA-965P-DS3, etc?

Ocz doesn't list the mobo. It may not work out of the box. In which case, you'd need to beg/borrow/steal compatible ram to set up bios & swap ocz ram back in.

ASUS P5B-DELUXE Umm i think that supports dual vid? Why wouldnt the ram work right off the bat? voltages im assuming... what Voltage does it need to be for a intial startup? I dont know anyone with a currrent computer that i could steal ram from.

I also went for the board, because of the chipset and the $$

thanks for a reply

chances are OCZ has made mobo manufactorers aware of the issues...

I'm sure that board should fare with your RAM well on delivery.

Hmm i started looking at the ASUS P5B-DELUXE you suggested. Im starting to like it a lil more. Any thing special about it that i would need to know about?
January 24, 2007 12:10:14 PM

nothing special really. p5B-deluxe is one of the most popular boards among enthusiasts at the moment.

Grrr. i started looking at more and more boards. now im not sure if i want the:

Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6
or
Asus p5B-deluxe

Ive been reading that the gigabyte overclocks better. But i like the layout and the features of the Asus. So im kind of at a draw.

I noticed that akhilles had the Gigabyte board im looking at in his profile. Just trying to find out why you chose one over another and why.

Go with 2GbsXMS2 Pro 6400 for your ram,or 2 GbsXMS2 SLI 6400.I have both sets installed. 1 set on each machine that i own.I started out with a 2Gb set of corsairs 8500 Dominators 1066Mhz. And the XMS2 Pro beat the dominators.Theuy also gave me a 800 point increase in 3DMark6. AS far as the8800 GTS's i also own two of them as well as two 8800GTX's.If your going with the GTS,go with the new one that just came out.Besidea the superclocked versoin, evga also has a KO version with a excellent cooling system. Its worth the extra $50.I also own two 122-CK-NF68 boards.they both perform fantastic and i have never had a single problem.
If you have the extra cash you might also want to get a E6700 mine is fast, intel has it locked, but you can OC it buy the FSB.I have mine at 2.93 with no issues my X6800 is at 3.46 with a Zalman 9700.this frtiday i will be installing a freezone cooling system,so i'm shooting for 4Ghz with the freezone on my X6800.

Stop! Did you read what I said? Will you SLI? Run 2 videos? Yes, go SLI mobo. No, go non-SLI mobo.

I might have to go with your ram. But i will be sticking with the 6600 just because of the price.

WHen you list two boards in order in the same line concerning non sli boards.. dont expect someone to read your mind.

concerning the vid cards, I will be water cooling it after a month or so im not really worried about the stock cooling. I dont know how they overclock but im sure they have enough headroom
