Problems with NWN Saved games

I have Neverwinter Nights Gold Edition running on Windows XP Pro. I
recently installed Windows XP SP2. Now I can no longer load my saved games.
I can start a new game, save it, and load it just fine. When I load my
previously saved games however, it crashes as soon as it tries to load the
scene.

Has anyone else had this problem and/or found a way to work around it? I'm
halfway through the game now, and would hate to have to start over.
