hallo,
I have a trouble with 2 user of a sbs2000 network. Domain controller sbs
2000 updated with sp, all clients win2k wks sp4 updated with sp.
I have set up 2 ou with two different group policy. Since 10 days one of the
two policies is not applied to two pcs. Or better only seldom it is applied.
I tried to recreate the ou and the policy. nothing changes.
I tried to create a new user and put it into the policy, nothing changes,
sometimes it works, sometimes not.
I changed the switch port where the two pcs were connected and I changed
the nic of the pc to change in this way also the mac address. Nothing
changed. The internal dns record correctly the change of ip.
If I try to log with one of those users into another pc, I get the same
behavoir, seldom the policy is applied.
If I put the two user in the ou that works correctly, they get the policy
correctly.
It seems that is a problem binded to the new policy that I create on the
server. The old policy works fine. Why? Help!

thank you

m

If what you said is correct, then seems like your policy does not apply to
your user. You can check in some ways. You can use gpresult to check the
effective policy. You have to make sure your users have the read and apply
permission to the GPO.

No solution. I had to apply maually the policies on the two pcs using the
policy console of the local machine.
In this way the policy are applied. I know it is not the best solution...
hope the problem remains on these two pcs only.
