Can anyone point me to any instructions for this... or is it impractical, given the difficulty of getting into an iMac?

Thanks!

a brave man asks about mac on this forum... but from what I understand the Mac has no Bios that can be tweaked, its a different beast entirely. So your most likely SOL. I wouldn't recommend over-clocking mac systems anyway since they are mostly notebook level components... but supposedly It can be done, just Google it.. (as I just did).

Yep, your pretty much sol, there are only a few macs that can be oc'ed (Without extensive modding.), and those are the old G3 and G4 towers.

That would be a mean thing to do to a poor little iMac... :x

Ah well, I'd better leave well alone.

As for being brave, in these days of Macs with Intel chips, happily running Windows, the line between PCs and Mac is becoming a bit blurred for me!

Thanks.

I did see that site but, unless I'm being really stupid, there isn't any actual step-by-step guide to overclocking there.

Well, thanks again... but these are older Macs.

The late 2006 iMac with Intel T2400 chip is another beastie altogether - if anyone has been under the hood and improved matters they're keeping quiet about it!
