Syncing with Exchange 2000

I have some customers who want to use Ipaq Pocket PC Phone editions (no
models selected yet), with Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition Software.

They have Windows 2000 servers with Exchange 2000. VPN is available.

How would they connect to the Exchange Server in real time and view their
mailboxes? I know Exchange 2003 is pretty much ready to do this out of the
box, but I can't find any info on Exchange 2000.

Thanks!

With Exchange 2000 they would have to either connect via pop3/imap4 or MIS
server if you want to sync your contacts, calendar and e-mail directly with
the exchange server. The way I did it for a while was to vpn into the
network and then connect to the exchange server using imap. This way I had
the security of the vpn to protect my username/password. With windows
mobile 2003 you could use ssl over your connections which would eliminate
the need for vpn. Outlook web access is another way but it's not ideal with
pocket internet explorer.

Thanks Eric!

Looks like a good excuse to upgrade them to SBS 2003!
