I'm starting a new build and wondering which would be better?

SATA DVD on sata controller (southbridge?) or, a IDE drive on the JMicron controller?

Do you need to change bios settings if you have one sata HD and one sata DVD on the same controller?

Do you need drivers if you add drive on JMivron to make it PATA?

Anybody deal with this yet? Any issues?
Im waiting to order drives.
