This may be a stupid question, but does a PSU have to have a pci-e connecter in order to power any pci-e video cards?

I am looking at an Antec Smart Power 2.0 for a BFG 7600GT. Says the PSU has a 6-pin pci-e connector. Will this work for that graphics card? Thanks.

I have an Antec 1050B case with the SP 500 PSU. It works perfectly after 14 months. And yes I know about the bad caps problem and no I don't know if the one I bought in Nov. 2005 has bad caps or not. One thing to my advantage is the PSU is well understressed in my system. I doubt if my computer pulls more than 130 watts at the most, judging from my energy meter readings.

I also have a dual conversion Tripp-Lite UPS which regenerates a perfect sine wave and noiseless AC, so that baby's the PSU even more.

If the PSU dies within two years of purchase, I'll agree it sucks, but so far so good.
