I have 4 Windows 2003 Servers running Terminal Server. They are in an
Active Directory domain, and have a Group Policy assigned to them for the
Computer Configuration only.
All the users are Local Users on the Servers, and are created by Novell's
Workstation Manager. We have a Local User Policy in effect on the Servers
which disables the screen saver and a few other things. This has been
working well for quite a while. There is nothing being applied by Novell
Zen or anything else in relation to the local users. The Servers are also
not in NDS or being managed by Netware in any way.
Lately, any time the Servers get rebooted the Local User Policy is wiped
out. All the Local User Policies revert to the defaults, but the Computer
policies that come from AD are there. I can manually change the Local User
Policies back, and they'll stay until the next reboot, or at least for
several days.
Even if nobody logs in via Netware the Local Computer Policies are gone
immediately upon reboot.
Anybody seen this or know why the Local User Policy gets wiped out on
reboot? This is getting to be a real pain in the butt...

How are you creating these local user policies?
Are you using gpedit.msc or are you using Novell's Workstation Manager?
Why are you using local user policies and not loopback processing GPOs?

Yes, I'm using gpedit.msc.
I'm not using loopback policies because I had problems with it once Would that be a better way to go even if the users aren't in AD?
