It is very annoying. I am watching something like Soprano's on HBO HD
channel and the picture freezes for about 10 seconds then resumes. That's
the only HD channel it's happening on. The cable guy checked the signal
into the box and he said it was no problem with that. He also changed the F
connector to a newer one he said is less prone to unwanted signals.
Anybody got any thoughts on why it is only on HBO? I would assume if it was
the HBO signal into the cable head they would have had other complaints
although they have only been offerring HD for a couple of weeks.

I get the "freeze" on HBO periodically. Also the sound has little drop-outs
and the color is bad.Other HD channels are fine.

Different satellite. HBO (standard) comes off the 101 bird. HBO-HD is on
the 119 bird. Signal levels on 101 would have no bearing on sig quality
from the 119. Check your dish alignment, check signal levels on
transponder #25 of the 119 sat.

Oops, correction. HBO-HD is actually carried on transponder 24 of the 119
bird, not 25. It used to be on TP 25, but was moved several months ago for
reason/s I am not privy to.

Thanks. Will check transponder numbers tonight. Although I don't know if I
can check one of the satellites as I have the ancient RCA DTC 100 which
combines two satellites in one reading. I have a three LNB dish.
