Is there anyone out there that would like to sell, or better yet donate, the electronics card off of a IBM Travelstar, 60 gb, 2.5" laptop harddrive? My laptop disk crashed the other day, (bad segments in the boot section). I was able to read the drive and started to recover my files, but, before I could get very far the drive motor motor died, too. A friend gave me a crashed 6 gb Travelstar, from which I scavenged the electronics card and installed it on my drive. It "sort of fit", and the motor did run, once again, but, the drive speed and, no telling what else, was not right, so I couldn't read the disk. The electronics card I need is for a 2.5" Travelstar, model # IC25T060ATCS05-0, 5400 rpm, ATA/IDE. I would really like to recover as much of my files as possible, but, I can't afford to go to a data recovery house.
