Im planning on upgrading my system but in order to do so I will need to upgrade my motherboard. Ive looked up a few recommendations and heard GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 LGA 775 might be the best choice. I plan on using Core 2 Duo 6600 so the motherboard needs to be compatible.

One problem I ran into was that this motherboard says it requires 1.8v ram but I had a real hard time finding any ram that was under 1.9v. Do I really need to have 1.8v ram in order to boot my system? If I do, is there a better motherboard choice that you guys may know of?

More about : motherboard ram

1.8v is simply the default ram voltage for that motherboard. That board will have no trouble supporting ram voltages beyond 2.2v although you might have to set the voltage manually.
