Would like to see what you guys think about these parts I will be upgrading to. My budget is 1200.

Motherboard: 132.99$
GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

Processors: 316.99$
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80557E6600 - Retail

Video Card: 289.99$
XFX PVT71JYHE9 GeForce 7950GT 512MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP ExTreme Edition Video Card - Retail

Total: 989.98$

Ill have about 210$ to spare but I also have an Antec 400 watt power supply and would like to know if I should get something larger. Everything else in my old system will be fine with the upgrade.

Im a bit afraid to overclock so I wont be doing too much. If I choose not to overclock would I still need to upgrade the cooling in my old system?

I would also like to know if it would be worth it to upgrade the Video card a little and get a 410$ DX10 card or would the 7950 be good enough?

It will be well worth the investment to strech to a 8800GTS, if money is a problem, then get an e6400. However, you should pluck up some balls and OC it, your mobo is good enough (and a good choice), and its really not that hard, especially with the Core 2 Duos, which don't fulfill their processor destiny unless they are OC'ed

In regards to the power supply, I think 400w might not be enough, for a rig with a GTS I would go for around a 550w.

Ill head back to newegg now and check the new price. One more question though, do you have any recomendations for cooling?

Would this be a descent choice?
ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler - 29.99$

I would prefer to just get a new case fan or some other fan that I dont have to directly place on the motherboard. Im not sure how much everything might heat up since ive never overclocked before.

Thanks for the help.

With everything added up im still within my budget plus I get 70$ after I send in the rebates. Im sure the 8800 will be a huge improvement with dx10 plus I wont have to worry about upgrading for a while longer. Thanks again for the help.
