I have three OU's...Finance, Marketing and Sales. I was wondering if it is
possible to create a GPO that would automatically add the user to the correct
default group membership for that particular OU, without having to manually
add them.

For example I want to be able to create a new user in Finance and have them
automatically added to say the financial records group membership.

Right now I have to manually do this. Is this what a GPO on the OU level can
do for me?

Thanks for your help in advance.

This would be for adding new user accounts in any of the OU's

This is not a Group Policy situation. You did not mention if this is
WIN2000 or WIN2003. If this is WIN2003 then there are two utilities that
might be of interest to you: redirusr and redircmp. Please see the
following MSKB Article:

There are other ways to do this. If you know how to script then that would
be the better way. ADSI might just be your answer. If not, then you might
want to look at ldifde for your user account objects. You could also look
at using network installation to deploy your client OS to the computers. In
the .sif file you can specify in what OU you want the computer account
object to be created.

I guess that there are several ways.
