i was looking true internet and i realised that sli motherboards for AMD are cheaper than the mobo's for intel is that a good reason to buy the AMD processor?

SLI is a waste really anyway unless you are going to play at super high resolutions. If you can afford it get a core 2 system.

so if i have a low budget i'd better take the amd?

if you have a low budget why are you caring about SLI? screw SLI, get core2duo and a 965 mobo
my buget depends on the good will of my parents and i dont know how much they want to spend so i was just having a look my budget could be less than 1000€ or more

Yeah, SLI or Crossfire is a waste of money unless you have a monitor with a res of like 2560×1600 and have a budget of like $9500 for the box alone.

the intel motherboards are a little more expensive but they only require ddr2 running at 533 fsb so the ram is cheaper and has more headroom for overclockablility making a core 2 system about the same price as the AMD system but with better performance. Also SLI is a waste unless your running at over 1600x1200 resolution with all the eye candy turned on and everything maxed out. Save the money on the board with a 965p motherboard and get a better single video card. 8800gt or if you have a month ati R600 series is around the corner.

If you can afford it yes, and if your budget allows you the room, but me personally, I'd spend money on the cheaper 7800GTX or a X1950XTX and save up my money for when both ATI and NVIDIA have DX10 cards out and the prices have come down to a reasonable level. I'd put the money I had saved to more (and/or better) RAM and a higher binned Core 2. But that's just me.

sli would be overkill i guess, it may be better to by an 8800gts?

An 8800 GTS is at the performance level of SLI with 2 X 7900 GT. This would give you some idea of how fast the GF8 is. I have a 8800 GTX and it posts slightly higher 3DMark06 scores than my SLI 2 X 7900 GTX on similar hardware (both C2X6800 and C2D E6700 OC'd to ~3.5GHz).

i heard that a sli version of 975x chipset is going to be released, due to the fact that long time partner ATI has made deals with rival AMD..! "if" true, does anyone have an idea when it would be released?

im in the same situation too..
but like you guys said, SLi isnt really worth it..

a core2Duo cpu and a 975x or 965 mobo would do good..

If you insist on SLI, Intel SLi platforms have better chipsets than that of the Amd platforms.. so go for a C2D (which is better than all the previous cpus from both intel and amd, only one c2d e6400 lost to only one amd fx serie, and c2d are much cheaper than AMDs cpu which are competitive with the C2d), and the nforce 680i chipset is the one that is competitive with the latest intel chipset 975x.. and the rest of the Nvidia arent worth it.. according to people

take a look at my thread (a question that i asked) "Comparing Nvidia & Intel Chipsets.." - you may find something useful to get an idea to help you make-up your mind..

Well, then forget SLI. Thats only for the very high end systems with monitors with more resolution than 1600*1200. The new 8800GTS and 8800GTX in single card configuration are much more powerful than older cards in SLI and the 8800's in SLI is insanely expensive.
But for 1000€ you have enough budget for Core2 which is much better than anything AMD has today. As you are talking euro, I suppose you are in Europe. Here in Denmark I just bought a system for 1200€ (excl. VAT) which I would recommend for the price:

Intel DP965LTCK motherboard
Core2 E6600 (2.4GHz)
2 GB DDR2-800 (Kingston KHX6400D2K2/2G)
Antec P150 case with NeoHE powersupply included.
White Alps floppy drive
320 GB Seagate 7200.10 SATA harddrive.
DVD+RW drive LiteOn LH-18A1H-483C, White, Bulk
Graphics card MSI NX7900GS-T2D256EZ, PCI-E, 256MB
Monitor LG TFT 19¨ L1952HQ (has DVI).

Notes: This is a excellent allround system optimised for moderate gaming performance and silent operation. RAM and motherboard has not been selected for overclocking and the powersupply and motherboard won't allow SLI (which I don't recommend anyways). If you want more gaming performance, then substitute the passively cooled 7900GS for a 8800GTS. If the 1000€ is the budget, then subsititute a E6300 for the E6600 or use a used CRT monitor instead of buying a new LCD.
