I'm here, but not as often. I found out that Tom's creates a lot of what appear as separate page hits, and it puts me on reports. So I visit on occasion.

I'm busy falling of my bike... Out up near Oldham yesterday enjoying the sunshine and a young (4 ish or so) kid runs straight out. I had less than a couple of ft to stop and nowhere to turn. SMACK!! I got thrown over the bars, had to try and keep the bike in the air as I did so as not to take the kids head off. Landed on my shoulder still clipped into my peddles.
Kid was OK but he'll be sore as hell today, left him with some serious bruises. His gramps picked him up of the path and he was that shaken the lad just pissed himself on the spot. I've broken a finger, bruised my shoulder and busted my knee up a bit. I really do hope the kid ain't to bad but even his folks said he should have been looking where he was going... lucky it was in a park and I was going ~8mph. Had I been at full speed I'd have killed him.
Keep it in mind when you're out driving today folks... summer is here in the UK and pissed folks and kids are everywhere.

At least he's getting some. How's your pristine still-showroom-new bedroom ride doing for you?

I have been so busy with work and all sorts that as they say, there are more pressing issues than to check a forum.
I think I was about (sort of) to see who was about the other week, but again, I was busy reading up on a few technical articles and a few psychological articles too.
So it's been all go with me. Plus I have been working some silly hours (I know) but you know, the more you prepare, the less you will have to do.
Plus I have my degree to do and then I have a flat to clean almost with an OCD standard about. Then I have running 5 days a week...So it's sort of on my low list!
I'm starting to get pissed off about my 15 hours work days...
So we're all in the same boat: either we still have a job and we're working our assess off to make up for those that got kicked out, or we don't have jobs anymore and complain about that.. so where's Tom? He can explain why it is stupid to work for a living...

If your workplace makes it an obligation to fill in for "excess" employes and that you are not compensated for those extra hours , than yes, tht's a difficult position. If your compensated for them, then that's not as bad is it. And if it's on a voluntary basis, then stop complaining already!
PIKE, monitary compensation does not make up for time lost.
MANY people believe that their time, especially when it becomes scarce, is more valuable than $$/hr.
Well read his post again. which would you prefer: Having a job and being obliged to work overtime but compensated for it or being laid off and having to find work (no paycheck or a small wellfare check and normaly busy most of the day looking for work). The choice seems clear for me so that:s why i say to not complain about being obliged to work overtime. And it"s not the amount on time one spends with family that counts but of course the quality.
1. I don't live with the folks anymore.
2. THEIR dog died a few years back (and no, no carcas to hump either)
3. Even the dogs wont go near me after sleeping with XTC's folks
4. I am no longer in posession of my balls after marriage. You will have to ask my wife what I am allowed to think.
There's a major EPA case going about his funeral - they're not allowed to bury him (something about graveyards not being landfills) and they can't cremate him. At least he came pre-embalmed...
