I am using windows xp s.p.2 and get a red x and no graphics on certain
web sites as well as an error message telling me I have a defective plug in
but they do not tell me which one is defective. Is there a site that will
check plug ins or how do I find which one it is

I followed your instructions and now have a different problem I no longer
get a broken icon nor a re x but instead get a small square box with a
smaller square, a triangle and a ball in it all fifferent colours I am
using Firefox but the same problem exists with I.E.
