Howdy. The 7600GT is a great card. This one requires a 350watt ps though. Unless you were a great hardcore gamer with a massive machine I would just recommend a cheaper PS.

Maybe you can pick both up at the same time maybe.

Hope this helps :)

That powersupply is garbage, this is better:

As for graphics, this fits into your budget. But if you can get the 7600GT even after a rebate, then defintely go for it:

The ps you picked is alot better but its twice the cost. She didn't want to spend more than $120 bux so I shot her that card which would totaly be fine for anyone thats not overclocking or that has 15 hard drives hooked up. :)

But yeah that powersupply is better no doubt. :) I was just trying to keep close to her price range so she could upgrade and make it work is all.

Yea, I agree. Its just the powersupply you picked, its something many of us have never heard of and looks very unreliable. I'd rather pay the extra cash and gets something that works, not to mention that Forton model has a 2 year manufacture warranty on top of it free of charge.

thanks so much guys for all your help. i have decided to go for the eVGA 256-P2-N550 -T2 GeForce 7600GT 256MB. but do i need a power supply that has a PCI-E Connector? if yes & no, what can you suggest?

btw, am raising my budget for the PS to $50. if we can get a lesser one would be greatly appreciated

This one would suit nicely the 450w one is just out of your range though. If you can shell out 58 after shipping, its a good deal. But heres the 400:
