The Price is only going to drop down 30-50$ lower than what most Stores are selling them for currently. Well 50$ is a lot, considering the Chip is only worth under 200$. that's a good 20% I guess.

I thought that this cpu was going to be cheaper than wat it is any ideas on when the price of these will come down.

I don't know when the price will come down... but I will only buy this processor for overclocking. From the anandtech.com article I saw this processor could keep in stride with the top of the line Core 2 Duo's (dual core) while on air cooling... not bad for a sub 200 dollar processor.
I thought about buying one for myself as OEM then purchasing a new cooler.

If I were going to purchase any other processor I would look at e6300 or e6400.

This cpu teamed up with my abit board should prove to be a good OCing
setup. I currently have ddr2 667 ram and the e4300 will put less stress on it and my FSB because it is running at FSB 800 mhz, unlike the e6300 that runs at the 1066 mhz. I to would like to buy the oem version because i already have a decent air cooler in the Zalman 9500

Right now Fry's Electronics is selling the E4300 with a cheapo ECS mobo for $150! I'm ticked because I bought an OEM one from them last weekend for 170 (I'm not very interested in going back and trying to talk my way into 20 bucks and a crappy mobo, hehe). This price will probably be around for a while, because their ECS mobo combos are always on sale at around the same prices. If it is on sale at that price where you reside, you should go get it and sell the mobo for 20-30 on ebay. Less taxes, you could come up on a fantastic CPU for roughly $120! It's a fantastic CPU for my needs, and it is easy to squeeze extra juice out of (OC).

All these new CPU's are expensive when first released.

So are the 965 MB's. Look how much cheaper the 945's are.

Have you thought of buying a new MB and installing the E6320 when it arrives in about a months time?
