I have all the prices for the parts I need from newegg but im moving soon and probably wont use the computer very much until summer. I dont buy computer parts that often so im not sure how much they might drop in price over 6 months. My question is, should I wait until summer or buy the parts right now?

Heres the list of the parts ill be purchasing. Most of them are fairly new and are subject to some of the highest prices on the market:

Case: 50$
COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW Black Aluminum Bezel, SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - Retail
Item #: N82E16811119068

Video: 399$

Item #: N82E16814130071

PSU: 90$
HIPER HPU-4K580-MS ATX12V v2.2 580W Power Supply - Retail
Item #: N82E16817128002

Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound - OEM 5$
Item #: N82E16835100007

RAM: 250$
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model TWIN2X2048-6400 - Retail
Item #: N82E16820145590

MOBO: 136$
GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail
Item #: N82E16813128012

COOLING: 30$
ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler - Retail

Processor: 316$
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz LGA 775 Processor Model BX80557E6600

Total: 1300$

Im not sure which parts would be subject to price drops, except maybe the DX10 card and the core 2 duo 6600. The reason im asking is because I would like to purchase a new monitor as mine is an old CRT and it wont make full use of the upgraded graphics. Sorta like playing a PS3 on a regular television.

If I can save around 200$ by waiting I would rather just do that, but if it ends up only saving me 50$ ill just buy it now.

No one can predit the future prices accurately, but at the rate of change, in 6 months you would definitely get more for your money than today. Just the addition of ATI for DX10 videocards will open up a lot more options.. and the fact that the 4mb E6300/6400 will be out means the E6600 will lose some value.. RAM prices fluctuate so much that it's a tough call there.. but there will easily be more motherboard options by then (the Gigabyte DS3 is still a fantastic board though).

There's no point in buying now if you really wouldn't use the computer much for 6 months.. a lot can change in that time.

I guess ill wait then, its not like I have anything to loose. Its not like the prices will go up or anything.

Thanks for the help.
