What Memory Would You Get For This Board?

I’ve been trying to figure out what memory I should get with the ASUS P5N-E SLI 650i, with a C2D E6600 and an eVGA 8800GTX. I’ve been looking mainly at Corsair and Crucial. I don’t plan on over clocking, but I might in the future. For the Corsair memory, I’ve been looking at the Corsair XMS2 TWIN2X2048-6400C4 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145034
For the Crucial memory, Crucial recommends the BL2KIT12864AL663 http://www.crucial.com/store/listparts.aspx?model=P5N%2DE+SLI but I can’t find that memory at all, so I’ve been looking at the Crucial Ballistix BL2KIT12864AA804 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146565

My questions are:
1. Do you think these two are my best options for the board that I am getting?
2. Which of the two would you get and why?
3. Is there another brand that I should be looking at?
4. What type of memory would you recommend?
5. I’ve heard that Crucial is the better manufacturer because they use micron D9, is this true?

Thanks for the advice ahead of time.

1) THAT XMS2 SUCKS! BEWARE! i had a horrible experience with them and if you read the reviews on newegg, many others are as well.
2) the ballistix hands down. iv heard great things about that ram and it has good specs as well.
3) im thinking of getting this ram because it can run at timmings of 4-4-4-12 at a command rate of 1T for a very good price and is reliable:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820220144
4)DRR2-800 is best for now. future proof and fast yet not TOO expensive.
5) not sure but i do know that ballistix supposedly uses very nice chips, so the answer might be yes... but not sure....

hmmm OCZ recently has not been doing so great with ddr2. i wouldn't go with them at this moment. no offense to MrsBytch, im sure if your ram is working it is great, but i think its just too risky right now.

I have the ballistix and am pretty happy with it. I don't have the tracers but the regular ballsitx. I hit 900mhz at 266/800 fsb/memory ratio with bumping the fsb speed until I hit 900@ 4-4-4-12. Keep in mind my board is crap (msi p965 platinum) and doesn't overclock well. It takes all kinds of voltage plus you know its going to work because it's coming from the company that actually makes the chips that goes into the "best" memory.

Keep an eye out on ZipZoomFly because they have been having rebates on Crucial memory. I got mine with $40 rebate.

good luck
