Hi i want to build a computer that lands around 1000 dollars which should perform well in games but especially in programs like 3ds max and other cpu intensive apps. It should be quiet and easy to overclock.
I already have harddrives, dvd-player and soundcard. Anyone got any ideas ? :)

Sorry. The 450w I suggested may not be enough. The x1950pro needs 450w & 30a on +12v rail minimal. These are better:

530W 37A combined

For $5 or $10 more(depending on the color you chose), you could get their 580W version just for a little added security.

I did suggest a case:

COOLER MASTER Centurion 534 $49.99

sillywabbit's suggestion is a bit better than your chosen psu.

That video card by Jetway is questionable, but cheaper. I haven't heard much of Jetway, so I can't say as to if the quality is that good but here is a decent card for a little more with great cooling.

This X1950Pro has even better cooling and is from a better brand IMHO.

Well so far ive got this:

Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3

Zalman CNPS9700LED Ultra Quiet

Arctic Silver 5

Sapphire Radeon X1950XT

Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 2.13GHz

Corsair Dominator TWIN2X6400C4D 2048MB, DDR2,2x1GB(KIT),DHX,E.P.P, CL4-4-4-12T

Hiper Type-R 580W Black, 2 Fläkt, 18db, 4xSATA, ATX/BTX, 2xPCI-E, 20/24pin

So far a little over my budget (sweden is expensive) but what the hell

Any comments ?

Personally I guess the memory modules are an overkill, haven't really understood the whole thing with 4-4-4-12 and stuff.

The centurion doesnt seem to exist in sweden :/

http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.asp?sku=327394 this one seems to have plenty of cooling but the lights... awfull lights (I really dont like lights, do you think they can be turned of or destroyed ?).

Sorry I didn't know you were from Sweden.

That case is the 1st with a 25cm intake. Yep, the LED lights can be turned off by cutting the LED wires around the fan mounts. It'll void the warranty. It's probably rather loud unless there are fan speed controls. Here is a few more photos of the case:

So you have about 7000 Swedish Krona to spend on a pc?

1,037.10 USD

You can choose between 1GB RAM & X1950PRO or 2GB RAM & 7600GT. It depends no how much time you game & work on the pc. If you work more than game, get more RAM. Otherwise, get faster video.

The Hiper PSU is quite good. Can power X1950PRO & X1950XT.

The stock cpu fan can be used for overclocking. CPU & CHIPSET temperatures will be your limit. So I always suggest a case with a 120mm intake & exhaust.

Well i wish this would cost 7000 crowns (which indeed 1000 dollars equals). However sweden is more expensive, so due to taxes and the fact that the computer stores arent as huge as in the US a 1000 dollar computer in the US lands around 10000 crowns :(

Anyways, I am thinking about some overclocking 3 ghz would be nice :)

You're welcome.

I forgot one last thing. The case has a front 120mm fan & no rear fan. You should get one more:

http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.asp?sku=312502

Or move the fan to the back. Make sure it's blowing air out of the case. Usually, a fan has air flow direction markings on the side. If not, the fan you see in the link above is the front which should be facing you no matter how you install it.
