I rebooted my computer and before doing so i had my AMD 3000+ Clawhammer running at a stable 2.4ghz but now since i have rebooted my computer everything but bios is telling me it is only running at 1.2ghz. is there something up with my cpu or have i messed up my reboot or something deeper? any help is good help. Thanks in advance

you could always go into the bios and check if the FSB and multi is set correctly

i did that and my multi is 10x and my fsb is sitting at 240.1

Check the bios settings. It sounds like everything is set to auto or default.Manualy change all the pertinant settings like multiplier and memory timings and fsb to what they should actually be.I came up on this same issue a couple years ago.I found that setting the multiplier to eg;11x instead of auto or default fixed the problem.Goodluck.

Go into the bios and make sure your hypertransport is set to 1ghz,and make sure cool n quiet is disabled.Ps.Barring that, reset to optimal settings in the bios.

did it just then and its back to normal but before i rebooted i had cool 'n' quite on and it was working fine.

Thanks for all of your help i wouldnt have had a clue. :D

Are your temps correct? Check to make sure cool n quiet wasn't activating because of cpu overheating.
