Not sure if I put this in the right forum and apologize if I didn't, so...
My lame self has been a daily reader of tomshardware since the Pentium 75mhz/socket 7 days and had refused to sign up but today I had a moment of weakness. Maybe my procrastination is cured?
As far as technical things go, my main (self built, always) machine sports a Q6600 (OC) on a gigabyte P35C-DS3R with 4gb, an ATI 4850 and Windows 7 RC. I was an Apple user since the black and white days, but have switched to Windows as my main OS as I still need some legacy stuff like RS232C and parallel ports. However I still have my PowerBook G4 and a 9600/350 as I have always run both platforms side-by-side as I still need OS 9 and OSX for some things and prefer the mac for school.
As far as mobile gadgets go, i've been a Sprint customer for a very long time and just got a Palm Pre. I know it's a hotly debated issue, but it does the job for me. I collect antiques and need reliable 3G web access and their EVDO network provides that speed and reliabily for me. Your mileage may vary, nobody likes it when other people pick out their underwear
As far as personal info goes, i've been working in psychiatry since 2004 and am currently in my senior year of nursing school. My wife works for geek squad (so sexy!). I collect old tube radios and TVs and restore them. I collect old computers and have a storage unit full of them. There is an Amiga 2000 on my desk beside my main computer, and an Atari 1040STe and Commodore 128 hooked up behind me, the Kaypro lives in the closet. Still trying to revive my SOL-20. This is why I need my legacy ports and Windows to run the apps to burn EPROMs, transfer files, and design PCBs for these machines. BTW, if there are any other retrocomuting members out there that need help with their machines, let me know!
AFAIK, I might have n00b confusion. No technical questions up there though, just saying hi before people wonder "who the hell is this guy?" and maybe if others share similar interests.
"With that kind of education and background and all the stuff you have, would you be interested in building one of these for me? If not how about some free therapy and a clean bed pan?? "
I'll build you anything you want. Sure, any time you wet yourself.
In that case then, just heed the advice of his last two words. Those pictures are your only salvation.

shapeless and faceless - Yet I have a name,
I shall tighten my grip on your now flawed creation,
endeavour to show you the meaning of pain.'
