I just built my first system. Got it up and running earlier today.

As for cooling, in addition to the Tuniq Tower, which I have on low, there is a chipset fan that comes the mother board, 1 120mm (that came with the case) in front of the raptors in the 4 in 3 module, an apevia 120mm above it, a 120m fan (that came with the case) in the back, and another 120mm apevia in the top.

What do you recommend. Should I get quiter fans? If so what fans do you recommend? Also what fan controller do you recommend?

Thanks.

As a 680i owner, the chipset fan is the loudest by far.

I removed mine, and have few heat issues in my well ventilated water cooled case, with a e6600 running at 3 gig, the NB stays around 41c under load.

Yes I live in the US. lol.

I had read about that chip set fan being load. But with all of the heat issues I've read about with the north and south bridge, I was afraid to not have it on.

I really have to do something my ears were still ringing this morning.

Ok I removed the chipset fan and it did significantly reduce the noise, but the northbridge temp temp shot up from 45 to 90, so I guess i need to put it back on.

Is there a way to lower the speed of the chipset fan?
