I'm a bit confused by the DDR 400, 3200, 533, gosh knows what

Suppose I buy an E6600 chip. What ram speed should it use? Supposed to be a 1066 FSB, does that mean 533? But some MO say DDR 400.

What do you go by Seems to make no sense to go with more than the Mobo handles, but ??

TIA for advise.

You will need:

DDR2-533 also called PC4200 Memory.

Each processor has a different FSB and you choose your memory according to the FSBx2 of the processor. Also you need to choose DDR2 for a modern processor/motherboard. The FSB for the 6600 is 266. Therefore 266x2=533.
Some people know more about this than I do.
